Google Drive is a digital filing system for all of your work and resources. Not only does your Drive store your work in folders, but it's also a place where you can access many of the Google tools you'll use every day as well as collaborate with others.
My Drive - Your work will be stored here and you will be the only person with access to the Drive. You can share documents within it with others, but they can't access your Drive.
Shared Drives - Shared drives are shared spaces where people can easily store, search, and access their files.
Shared with me - This is a list of all the files and folders to which you have access. This could be viewing access or editing access.
You can begin working on many of Google's applications from directly within the Drive. Just click on the New + button and see the drop down box including apps like Docs, Sheets, Slides, and more.
Creating Folders - stay organized in Google Drive by using folders. You might like to organize things by having a folder for each YEAR (ie 10th grade) and within that folder a folder for each class.
To create a new folder, click the NEW button in drive and choose New Folder. Then, label your folder with the title you want.
You can also change the color of the folder to help you stay organized. To do this, right click on the folder and choose Change Color.
You might also like to use emojis in your folder names to visually organize them. To do this, click Rename and insert an emoji.
When you create in Google Drive, you have the ability to share your work and collaborate with others. There are several levels at which you can share your files.
